Unforgotten Touch

Snippet of Unforgotten Touch – Part 2

“Please don’t stare.” Lizzie tilted her face away from the inquiring eyes, instinctively seeking the shelter darkness offered. “It’s rude.”
“Aye, it is.”
She fingered the material of the dress she wore realizing her mistake in having gowns made for this era right before she traveled. “You have no intention of stopping?”
“Nay.”
A shift of his body followed by the faint sound of his inhaled breath stirred memories. The musky odor of his scent coiled around her, and she felt herself drawn back to the now familiar dream. Her Calum stood with a young girl in the shadows of the church wall. Green eyes looked up and sought Lizzie out as she stood in the darkness.
Those same colored eyes now watched her, but this was no dream. She’d time traveled with every intention of finding her Calum, the man who’d haunted her for too many years, the man who was responsible for keeping her from making a life with anyone else. There was always a point where she could go no further. The few times she’d gone on a date, the dreams and visions descended on her with a jealous lover’s fury. They hounded and haunted her with no mercy until she had broken off any budding relationship she’d attempted to develop. Eventually, she stopped.
Calloused fingers cupped her face and tugged it upwards. Was this a face she’d known? Was this the Calum? Her chin pushed against his hand, like a bird held captive wanting its freedom, then stilled.
His eyes roamed her face as if searching for confirmation of some long forgotten memory. “I knew a girl named Lizzie, once. She stole my heart.” He laid his face on his outstretched arm, facing her. As if a dove whose eyes could only see one thing at a time, her face followed his. “I never gave it to another. Fifteen years is a long time to mourn.”
“No one?” she asked. “Why didn’t you just go on with your life?”
“She wouldna’ let me.” He shrugged as if it was normal to be held captive by a memory.

Is this another Going Native?

Hmm…now scientist want to let people ‘breed’ with permission only. That would open a can of worms, for sure. Do you honestly think this could become acceptable?

I realize there are people who leave one with the question(s) of their ability to be a decent parent(s)…but to put the ‘go ahead’ in a group/agency hands…to deliberately sterilize people? What happens to the woman who becomes pregnant without permission? What becomes of the child?

China anyone?

The slippery slope seems to be toying with becoming slimy.

You thoughts?

#Daily Bite #Unforgotten Touch-Part 2

Calum held the young woman to his chest, his hand disappearing in the mass of red hair that fell down her back. As if in slow motion, he brushed her lips with his. A tentative kiss as if she was a precious vessel to be tested first. Her thin arms crept up his chest and pale fingers wrapped in the hair at the nape of his neck. They moved closer, each using the claim on the others body to accomplish the goal.

Unforgotten Touch – Part 1 – Good deal for the Reader…Good deal for the Author…Good deal for Amazon?

Unforgotten Touch has gone live on Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited this AM. This is my book about time travel, one of my favorite types of reads. I’ve broken Unforgotten Touch in ‘parts’ and will debuting Part 2 in approximately 2 months.

I debated on doing this but felt since Unlimited is a flat fee where the reader pays $10.00 a month to read as many books as they want (able to download 10 books at a time)…for $0.99 this was a decent deal. And it’s a good book.

My question is, what would keep an author from doing this and placing a price more like $2.99? The reader wouldn’t care if it was $10.99, they’re only paying $10.00 for as many books as they can read. There has to be a catch as Amazon would go broke with that scenario. Well not broke maybe but it would put a dent in the funds.

I do know the reader has to read at least 10% of the book or the author does not get paid. The payment comes out of a worldwide pool that Amazon has to pay authors…but how is the payment given on the price the author sets up? I’m not sure but will soon find out once I make some sells and will update this post with my findings.

For now, if you are in Amazon’s Kindle Unlimited…check out Unforgotten Touch and let me know what you think.

Here’s the blurb to arouse your curiosity–hopefully.

Lizzie had been haunted by visions of an unknown man for the last five years. Visions so vivid she felt the salt on her skin and smelled the musk of his scent as they stood on the bow of the ship.

When her parents were killed in an accident, they leave her an envelope containing one sentence. “Scotland is your past and only there will you find your future.”

Desperate to discover the connection between her visions and the note, Lizzie begins the search for a past she can’t remember and the future she may have already lived.

Will her search lead her to Scotland and into the arms of a man who demands her loyalty–even though she has no memory of him?

Designer Babies Becoming Reality?

Interesting article on designer babies. Who knew that 4 years ago, I’d start a book on this very subject. I still, at times, have to pinch myself that GOING NATIVE came out at the very time designer babies started to gain international attention.

A debatable issue, sometimes a hotly contested one, with people on both sides. Where do you stand? I’d love to hear your thoughts/opinions.
